A Barn Wedding

A lovely thing happened when our son became engaged. His bride-to-be asked me to plan their wedding. They wanted to keep it simple, so they decided on a Rustic Barn Wedding in the autumn mountains of North Carolina.

The Ceremony

Oh, what a beautiful backdrop to the most special wedding I've ever experienced. Their day turned out perfectly. Everything from the ceremony to the party and beyond was exactly what they wanted.

Message in a Bottle

Personalized items were added to the decor which made their wedding day unique. Instead of a guest book, guests wrote messages and slipped them into a bottle to be read on their first anniversary. What a fun idea!

Trail Mix Bar

The most visited spot during the evening was the Trail Mix Bar, which was the guest's favor to take home as a thank you gift. We filled buckets with the bride & groom's favorite snacks, toppings and candy.

Guests helped themselves and created their own special mix. The Trail Mix Bar fit in perfectly with a Barn Wedding theme.

Reception

My daughter-in-law chose succulents and blush tones for her bridal bouquet, table decor, and beautiful polka dotted cake.

As a special touch, we planted the succulents in our front yard, then harvested them two days before the wedding. We worked closely with the florist who used them to decorate the guest tables at the reception too.

The Party

The party was epic, and came to life with Kipper the DJ. Before we knew it, the day had slipped away, and it was time for the sparkler send off.
