Vintage Strawberry Cake
is packed full of fresh strawberries! But, the strawberry cream cheese icing steals the show!
sugar eggs flour buttermilk butter strawberries oil water butter cream cheese –
– Stir flour with sugar in a mixing bowl. Set aside.
Melt butter in a saucepan, then add oil and water. Bring to a boil for 1 minute. Mix wet ingredients with dry ingredients. Add strawberries to batter.
Pour batter into a 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes.
Blend cream cheese and butter to make icing, then add powdered sugar and strawberries. Pour over cooled cake.
Decorate top of cake with strawberries to create a star pattern.
