Green Tomatoes

EASY RECIPE!

Pickled Green Tomatoes is a southern recipe using white vinegar, sugar and spices to create green tomato pickles that are tart and tangy!

INGREDIENTS

– green tomatoes  – sweet onion  – distilled white vinegar – white sugar – minced garlic

INGREDIENTS

– mustard seed – celery seed – seasoned pepper – kosher salt – red pepper flakes

STEP ONE

Wash and dry large green tomatoes that are unripened and recently picked off the vine.

STEP TWO

Dice green tomatoes and onions into bite size pieces.

STEP THREE

Pack green tomatoes and onion slices into pint size mason jars that have been washed and dried.

STEP FOUR

Mix all spices together with vinegar and sugar to make a tart and tangy brine. Bring to a boil for 3 minutes.

STEP FIVE

Pour hot brine over green tomatoes in jars and fasten lids.

ENJOY!

Store Pickled Green Tomatoes in the refrigerator for up to 1 month if they last that long! Perfect with pinto beans & cornbread!
