Pimento Cheese Grits

Pimento Cheese Grits are as southern as it gets!  My version will make your southern heart start to patter.

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup stone ground grits (ad)
  • dash of salt
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 cup pimento cheese
  • dash of garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. dried parsley
  • 1/4 cup half & half
  • 4 small scoops of pimento cheese to garnish
  • shredded cheddar to garnish

  1. In a large dutch oven, (ad) boil water, then add grits, salt, and butter.
  2. Cover and simmer grits until tender (about 20 minutes).
  3. Add a little water if needed and stir to prevent scorching.
  4. Remove from heat and fold in pimento cheese.
  5. Add dried parsley and garlic powder.
  6. Stir in half and half.
  7. Salt to taste if needed.
  8. Stir well and pour into individual bowls.
  9. Garnish with a scoop of pimento cheese and shredded cheddar.

You've never had grits this good until you've added pimento cheese to the mix!
